The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled forwards Matt Nieto and Vasily Ponomarev from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League. In a corresponding transaction, rookie goaltender Joel Blomqvist was assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
