After months if not years of leaks about Nintendo’s next console, unofficially called the Switch 2 due to zero Nintendo-released information about it, we have a new report from a few sources that says it may actually be revealed this week.

A well-known and generally reliable leaker reveals the alleged Nintendo Switch 2 announcement date, which happens to be really soon.

Here’s what we know for sure: Nintendo has confirmed that the yet-to-be-announced Switch 2 will be backward-compatible with original Switch games and will feature Nintendo Switch Online. As for a release date, the console is not expected to launch during Nintendo's current financial year, so it will arrive April 2025 at the earliest.

Ubisoft reportedly has over half a dozen Nintendo Switch 2 ports in development, two of which are Assassin's Creed Mirage and Shadows.
