Horner was unceremoniously dumped by Red Bull Racing on Tuesday afternoon, breaking the news to the squad’s Milton Keynes workforce on Wednesday morning.

Red Bull has pledged not give up on the Formula 1 title fight until it's mathematically impossible for Max Verstappen to win, even after Christian Horner was fired as team principal.

Red Bull has lost several key figures across the past 18 months, most notably design legend Adrian Newey, Sporting Director Jonathan Wheatley, and Chief Designer Rob Marshall. The sacking of Horner means that a fourth pillar of long-term success is gone.

Frenchman Laurent Mekies got down to work as Red Bull team principal on Thursday, a day after replacing Christian Horner, and recognised big challenges ahead for the once-dominant former champions.

The Cadillac F1 team is reportedly planning to have discussions with several drivers, and surprisingly, it also includes one Red Bull driver.
