South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers is nearing a deal to return to the school for 2026, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.

For Drayton, this is his 16th-different team in 33 years of coaching. He spent a season at Mississippi State in 2004, where he met Shane Beamer. He was at both Florida and Ohio State under head coach Urban Meyer. He has had stints in the NFL, a short head-coaching tenure at Temple and, most-recently, spent 2025 at Penn State.

South Carolina is reportedly hiring an offensive coordinator from the Big 12 with previous experience coaching in the SEC.

On Thursday, the SEC announced its coaches-selected Freshman All-SEC team, and a pair of South Carolina specialists made the cut. Both punter/holder Mason Love and kickoff specialist Max Kelley found their names on the postseason honor list.
