Nov 8, 2021 — Your post might be confusing: to gearheads "FWD" usuallly means front wheel drive, and no E-250s have that. Four wheel drive is usually "4x4" or 4WD and all wheel drive "AWD." RWD is rear wheel drive. Anywho, I have a 4x4 E250. It is marginally better than 2WD, but not tons. As many have already noted, it's about the tires.

Yes it’s RWD, but with good tires that are aired down, it’ll probably out wheel an AWD Astro van because the clearances are way higher. It’s also roomier on the inside.
