Feb 20, 2023 · CTX700 crew here - in stop and go traffic the DCT is freaking great. One cool thing: the DCT computer tends to "learn" your throttle sweetspots over time, so after a while the bike just becomes and extension of your wrist. Likewise, it cheats toward fuel efficiency so the bike just gets smoother over time.
What are everyone's thoughts on DCT/Automatic motorcycles?
Jul 11, 2019 · I say go for it. At the end of the day you're still riding and enjoying the road. With a DCT you're better able to focus on safety and the scenery than worried about shifting gears. Took a test ride on a DCT Africa Twin, it's super smooth and responsive, you barely notice you're on an automatic, and manual mode is good fun. Wouldn't buy it if I had the choice, though. I've ridden two Honda's with DCT. The new Goldwing and a VRF1200X. Smooth as silk, but nothing like the CVT in a scooter.
