Usually, a brief course of treatment will result in sustained relief. Injections are given in a doctor's office and usually take just a few minutes.
Have you tried trigger point Injections for muscular driven pain?
Had trigger point injection two days ago. Dr didn’t dig around but it wasn’t pleasant and definitely not like acupuncture at all. I would describe it as aggressive treatment. I am actually experiencing pain again today on the area that was treated but was pain free for 2 days.

Oct 20, 2021 · Trigger point injections are not painful at all for me, but I also get epidurals without anesthesia, whereas my spouse insists on twilight sedation. Everyone has a different tolerance. My doctor uses a numbing spray at the point of injection and that has always been effective. He uses that same spray if I get any other type of injections as well.

May 16, 2018 · Just sharing my experience only. I had the injection done and it helped with the pain for a few hours but naturally it should cus its an anesthetic (numbing agent). I was told since I received beneficial results (within 15-30mins) then its highly likely due to trigger point pain; again doesnt make sense cus he was numbing my nerves.

Trigger point injections are very mild/temporary compared to other injections you can get in your neck/shoulder, I’ve gotten trigger point injections, an epidural and Botox and the trigger points were definitely the least invasive. Good luck!
