Apr 25, 2018 · Hsu's posted figures have generally proved to be relatively accurate in 3rd party testing. While the Hsu maybe up only about 2db in the 20-31 hz range, it is up 6-7 db in 40-80 hz range, which is literally double the output. Now output isn't everything, but i would rather have the significant extra overhead from the Hsu.

Feb 21, 2023 · HSU gives a 7yr warranty on the driver and a 2yr warranty on the amp with the option to extend it to 5yr for an additional fee. So I’d say, slight advantage SVS but others may feel differently (I prefer a longer warranty on the amp, personally).

Nov 29, 2024 · That subwoofer would easily exceed the HSU sub in every specification, and in overall performance capabilities, and it would exceed the other PSA subs you mentioned as well. It is currently out of stock until sometime in February, and it is currently priced at $3400 a pair.

Apr 28, 2010 · I am gonna agree with mannoiaj. Hsu's subs are great subs, but for a room that size you're gonna want something with a little bit bigger balls. An eD A5-350 or an A7s-450 would fit the bill nicely, both are ~800 ish though. The other thing is you could always pick up the HSU, and if its not enough you could nab a second one.

Nov 17, 2020 · I've owned Hsu and SVS and they make great subwoofers. A few years ago I went with the Power Sound Audio S3601 and it's an incredible subwoofer. More importantly, the amp went dead after about a year of use and PSA stood behind their product.

Aug 1, 2017 · HSU CCB8s - I have a lot more cons than pro's, I'm probably being overly critical but for all the hype I think I should be It was a great treat to finally listen to the HSU CCB-8s but they were somewhat overrated. It's almost they simply built them to achieve loudness and nothing else. I would also recommend the JBL 230 before these.

Aug 5, 2022 · I would think most would use the Hsu in 1 port open tune as this gets the best low end extension and is likely a fairly similar tune to the PB-1000 Pro. When comparing the 2 with the Hsu in 1 port open, the Hsu has a 4.5db advantage at 16hz but otherwise they are fairly evenly matched down to 20Hz with a slight advantage to the SVS over 20Hz.
