Aug 12, 2024 · Cleaning up a few random chunks of wood and have these (3) pieces of Cherry Burl. Total measurements about 12x13x 2” (+\thick. Nothing fancy with a few issues, but was salvaged a while ago from an ant infested big chunk of Burl. Asking $20 plus shipping. Jun 29, 2005 · Two things. First, the burl will not tend to split the same way clear wood will. As Bill said, if the trunk grows straight through the middle, you can expect it to develop checks, but not the actual burl. If you cut with some branch/trunk to either side, it should store nicely.
