Nov 16, 2017 · My town has around 6000 people, most people know each other, and everything is close by, the longest drive you have from one end of the island to the other is probably around 30m. I work 10m walk from work, and my work is 5m walk to the beach, which is awesome in the summer, as I change clothes and hit the beach for some relaxation.

Jul 18, 2019 · There are two grocery stores in Faja Grande where you will be staying. There are two supermarkets and a grocery store in Lajes and one supermarket and a couple of grocery stores in Santa Cruz. We will be staying at Aldeia da Cuda on Flores for a couple of weeks. We will have a car. We will be mostly hiking and sight seeing.

Kids have to leave the island to finish high school, and at least when we went their population was declining. We hiked through at least one overgrown and abandoned village. Do recommend visiting the Azores, especially if you enjoy hiking. (And I wouldn’t recommend visiting Flores if you don’t like hiking—there’s not much else to do😂)

Mar 21, 2024 · It really needs to be worth it if we are to go there within only 2 weeks. I wouldn't say unmateched but it is considered one of the most beautiful of the islands. It is, in our opinion is the most beautiful one, along with São Jorge. But it all depends on what you like, how you travel and what your budget is.
