• Symptoms of heart failure
• Fainting

Get medical help right away if you have any very serious side effects, including

• Chest/jaw/left arm pain

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including

• Rash
• Itching/swelling
• Severe dizziness
• Trouble breathing

Other things to note

• Dizziness or lightheadedness may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If either of these effects persists or worsens, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
• Minoxidil may cause increased growth or darkening of fine body hairs. If this bothers you, consult your doctor. When you stop taking the medication, the hair will usually return to normal within 1 to 6 months.

• For solution, non-oral products : Do not use in children under 18 years. Read directions carefully before start of therapy. Keep away from eyes. Avoid broken, recently shaved or irritated skin. Do not apply to sunburned skin. May sting or burn after applying. May take 4 months for full benefit of therapy. Keep medicine away from heat or flames.
• For tablet products : If available, read the patient package insert. May increase heart rate. May make you dizzy. Use caution when driving. Take doses regularly, even when feeling well. Tell MD before stopping, or starting other drugs. Tell doctor your complete medical history. It is important to check blood pressure regularly. Keep all medical appointments.

• This drug may impair the ability to operate a vehicle, vessel (e.g., boat), or machinery. Use care until you become familiar with its effects.
• It is very important that you take or use this exactly as directed. Do not skip doses or discontinue unless directed by your doctor.
• Obtain medical advice before taking non-prescription drugs as some may affect the action of this medication.

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you've had:

• Pheochromocytoma
• Heart problems (such as heart failure, chest pain, recent heart attack)
• Kidney disease
• A certain lung disease (pulmonary hypertension)
