Dec 12, 2021 · Currently there are 2 OVA in JoJo media: -Stardust Crusaders OVA (1993-2000) by Studio APPP. 13 episodes -Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan OVA (2017-2019) by David Production. 4 episodes. Both of them is worth it on their own. Though if you just prefer the new stuff by DavidPro then Rohan OVA is for you.

Sep 16, 2016 · Story and Plot: Anime > OVA Music and Sound Effects: Anime > OVA Voice Acting: Anime > OVA Overall Tone: personal preference Background Art: OVA > Anime Animation: OVA >>> Anime Quite a lot of budget and talent went into the OVA. They took JoJo way too seriously IMO, but it's interesting to see such a different take on the material.

Dec 17, 2021 · What’s funny about that? He’s exactly right. The Jojo story is the comics Araki wrote and drew. Nothing else. The tv show and OVAs are adaptations of the source material. They are not the source material themselves. There’s nothing wrong with that and it doesn’t make them any less great.

Apr 3, 2023 · The OVA was great for its time when Jojo was considered a series that wasn't possible to be animated without major concessions. The anime is objectively the better adaptation of Araki's original work but that doesn't mean the OVA is bad, or not worth revisting, or that you're not allowed to prefer it.

Honestly, the OVA was my first dip into JoJo outside of references I didn’t understand yet (like QuarterGuy using Heritage of the Future DIO’s roadroller super) and while it’s very different to what David Productions does and it apparently cuts a lot out, I loved the sense of style it has.
