Spraying Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane with HVLP Sprayer
Apr 30, 2023 · I purchased the Fuji Mini Mite 4, as I read the 4 Stage turbine could properly spray water based paints. But for the life of me, I can not get the Mini Mite 4 to properly spray Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Paint.

Jul 23, 2018 · I have also used proclassic latex and find the Emerald to be a little tougher at least short term. I have Proclassic doing well at 10 yr plus. You mentioned Pro Industrial urethane alkyd waterborne. This is a similar product by Sherwin-Williams but you will have to double the blocking and cure times. I used the emerald trim thinned through my HVLP.

Jul 21, 2020 · Nothing beats oil for build, hide and adhesion. But let's be honest. Who likes using oil? For the best second place primer I like the wall and wood primer. Lots of build, great adhesion, mediocre on hide. Not good for tannin bleed. But 2 coats of Emerald Urethane will mostly block it. For perfection, I spot prime with pro block oil in a rattle can.

The even bigger negative even after sanding everything super smooth, vacuming and tacking it all down nice the second coat felt like 400 sandpaper. this is BAD. I have been applying satin finishes for many years and I have a certain expectation.
Emerald Urethane/Industrial Pro Urethane/Pro Classic
Mar 18, 2020 · I prefer the Emerald urethane trim enamel for its ease of application and hardness, but it is really smelly and lingers for days. If customers can't or won't handle that, I use the ProClassic semi gloss waterborne, just put it on thin. Both products work great in my opinion, but one smells much more than the other.

Nov 10, 2018 · Urethane modified alkyds are way stronger and superior compared to waterborne alkyd’s alone. 1) They dry much harder, 2) They generally don’t ever yellow, and certainly much less than basic waterborne alkyd’s do. 3) They are more chemically resistant. 4) They are much more scratch resistant.

On the other hand, I like the look of the Pro Classic better when dry, more glass-like in my opinion. I'm talking brushing and rolling.
