In 1982, Lonnie Johnson was trying to think of how to make a fridge more environmentally friendly, as suddenly a leak sprung in one of the pipes. At that moment, a lightbulb went off in Johnson's head, as he started working with an idea for an air-compressed water gun, leading to the invention of the Super Soaker.
