September 23, 1979: On this day 45 years ago, the Miami Dolphins defeated the Chicago Bears 31-16 in front of 66,011 fans at the Orange Bowl. The Dolphins were led by fullback Larry Csonka who scored 3 touchdowns. Csonka returned to the Dolphins after a 5 year absence playing in the WFL and New York Giants. Don Strock started the game at quarterback for the injured Bob Griese. Dolphins running back Delvin Williams rushed for 135 yards, including an 18 yard touchdown run.
