At approximately 2:45 Wednesday afternoon, the #FDNY responded to calls for fire at 451 Broome Street in Manhattan. “Our members did an outstanding job quickly extinguishing the fire, preventing extension. This is a challenging fire in this type of structure. We also activated our drones, an essential part of allowing us to view roof tops from the street,” said Acting Deputy Chief Jarrod Garritano. On Saturday morning, FDNY Marine 6 responded to a water rescue in the East River near the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge. Using drones , FDNY Robotics quickly located the individual in the water and deployed two yellow buoys to mark the area, allowing Marine 6 to navigate directly to the victim. “The FDNY Robotics team did an outstanding job,” said Battalion Chief Michael Dowling. “By dropping those buoys near the victim, they gave us a clear visual marker that helped Marine 6 reach the individual mu
