The grasp reflex is a primitive reflex seen in newborns and young infants. When you place a finger or object in a baby's palm, they will automatically close their fingers around it. This reflex is present from birth and usually fades by around 3 to 6 months of age as the baby gains more voluntary control over hand movements.
