This year is the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed, also called the Nicene Symbol. Dean Richard will talk about the history of the Creed, the imagery of the Creed (some compare its images or phrases to chapter titles in a novel), the authorized version of the Creed used at the cathedral, reservations about the Creed, and the Nicene Creed as a jumping off point for prayer and experience of the mystery of God who is beyond all language.
