This summer, I did my pre-scouting to figure out where I should go archery elk hunting in Montana. I found an area while e-scouting, that is a ways in and has a 4-5 year old burn that peaked my interest. So I decided to do some boots-on-the-ground scouting and hike in. Before long, I glass up a big herd of cow elk in the burn. From where I am glassing, I see a bunch of elk tracks, as well. The only problem is the area doesn't present a lot of options, if other hunters decide on this area as well
