These Lightning Whelks (Sinistrofulgur sinistrum) are only about two weeks old, but have already developed a liking for bivalves, just like adults of the species. They have already begun to add the notorious "lightning bolt" stripes to their shells, but the foot of each juvenile has not yet turned the distinctive dark black that the adults are known for.
