Ari recently received training to volunteer at a shelter in Missouri (along with her sister). They got to learn all about how the shelter works and ways to help, including reading to the animals. Reading to dogs has been deemed beneficial to both the child and the animials: the child gets reading practice and the animals get calmed down and charmed. It's a really great way to volunteer.
