This one-year-old clump of Capsicum frutescens 'Hawaiian' is showing off its festive fall fruit! We had an older clump that was planted in 2018, but after 6 years it was very late to emerge so we replaced it with a fresh quart-sized plant from the nursery. This shrubby pepper is easy to grow in a container too, if it is stored in a cold frame or a greenhouse over winter. The fruit are edible and dry well due to the low amount of flesh.
