How to make T-shirt yarn! Gather up any unwanted T-shirts, or you can even pick some up from the thrift store. The larger the shirt, the more yarn you will have. Also, T-shirt thickness makes a difference as well. A softer, thinner shirt will make lighter yarn. Use an ironing board or some kind of device that will allow you to easily turn the shirt as you cut. Cut off the hem and set it aside, you won’t need it. Now cut one long continuous strip no wider than 1 inch. 3/4” is even better! Go all

This is how I make T-Shirt Yarn- I am using a rotary cutter to do the strips. It is a lot easier to get a straight line. You could use scissors for that.
