🏅On August 4, 1936 American athlete Jesse Owens won his 2nd gold medal at the Berlin Olympics; beating German Luz Long in the long jump final with an Olympic record leap of 8.06 metres (26 ft 5 in). The jump was 3¼ inches short of Owens’ own world record.
