On July 31, 1987 NWA’s 3rd annual Great American Bash took place from the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida. Like the previous year, it was a series of events held throughout the summer of 1987, although this year's tour only had 3 events (July 4th, July 18th and July 31st) instead of 13. In the main event dubbed “WarGames II: The Explosion”, The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal), Dusty Rhodes, Nikita Koloff & Paul Ellering took on The Four Horsemen (Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Lex Luger & Tully Blanchard)

On July 4, 1987 NWA's The Great American Bash took place in front of 13,500 fans at The Omni in Atlanta, Georgia. In the main event, The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk), Nikita Koloff, Dusty Rhodes, and Paul Ellering took on The Four Horsemen (Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Lex Luger, Tully Blanchard) and J.J.
