Today we are doing a deck restoration to a redwood deck with oil NOT stain and sealer. Stain and sealer did not last more than two months on my deck. I built the redwood deck back in 2014 and now I'm getting around to refinishing the deck with oil this time and from here on out. I should have done this the first time, but I had to learn my lesson the hard way unfortunately. Don't make my same mistake I made, just use a oil finish and not a water based stain and sealer.
