November 18, 2022, marks 92nd Anniversary of Soka Gakkai`s founding day. Tsunesaburo Makiguchi, its first president, was an educator inspired by Nichiren Buddhism and passionately dedicated to the reform of Japanese education. Makiguchi and his disciple Josei Toda published the first in a series of writings outlining the system of soka (value-creating) pedagogy, on November 18, 1930.
