Lots of people say you should always dilute bleach before using it to distress clothing. If you do dilute the bleach, you have to leave it on for longer, so it's just as damaging to the fibres. I always do these things when I bleach; 1. Bleach a test area so I know whether it takes seconds, or minutes to work 2. Use a spray bottle to control how much bleach I'm adding 3. Rinse in plenty of running water when I'm happy with the effect, then soak and rinse again 4. Wash the clothing in my machine
