In this video I'm upgrading the linear scale from the X-axis of my lathe from an optical scale to a magnetic one. The optical scale often got dirty and had issues working properly. I upgraded it to a magnetic one, which is much more resistant against chips and oil. It's also much smaller and won't cause any clearance issues anymore with the Chuck.
